CoVid-19 has raised feelings of fear, uncertainty, frustration and discomfort; it has also revealed the compassion of humanity during a period of distress.
For me, this pandemic has slowed time to provide an opportunity for me to reflect on health and loved ones and remind me how grateful I am to live in Switzerland.
As a result of times, I called my family more frequently, friends reconnected with me from afar to check in, nearby friends dropped of food, I renewed my great appreciation for a simple walk and slowed down my steps to take in the fresh air and ever growing flowers in my neighborhood.
Despite the difficulties of this time, it has renewed my appreciation for what I already have. When the world returns to the ‘new normal’ I hope we take forward this compassion and gratefulness for the positive things we already have in our lives. I want to continue to reach out frequently to my family and friends, offer to help others as my friends have helped me, continue to take walks appreciating the world around me and be grateful for the life I live here in beautiful Switzerland.
Thank you for listening Switzerland and thank you for being a home to be proud of,
