You have given me so many gifts; A safe, clean, and happy place to settle in. A booming job market that allows my husband and I to both have fulfilling careers. Social support, a community, a haven... a home.
A beautiful and prosperous life. And now with a baby on the way, a wonderful place to raise a child in the next chapter of our lives.
You have given us so much, and we have been so fortunate to have you. Now in the middle of this pandemic, I wish and hope for so many things for you: To bounce back strongly, to stay true to yourself and your culture, but also to be open to new and innovative and interesting things that come out of this surreal time in history. New ways of working, new ways to make connections with friends and loved ones, new ideas about how the world and societies should function.
Above all, I hope you continue to be a shining example for how to be a great nation. That you set an example for how we should love and take care of one other. That you help to make the world a place in which my soon-to-be-born child will be able to grow and prosper.
Thank you, dear Switzerland
